iseemedia, world-class software company focused on the development of advanced, rich content adaptation and delivery solutions for the Web and wireless application
 
The Challenge: After recently becoming a publicly traded (TVX) company, iseemedia was in high-growth mode and engaged Martyn Bassett Associates in a search for a VP Sales - Wireless. Their business strategy rested heavily on opening up and growing their Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets and developing stronger, more lucrative channels throughout the region.
 
They required a candidate with demonstrated experience partnering with resellers in the wireless technologies space. In addition to success targeting and maximizing Asian/Middle Eastern sales channels, the successful candidate had to be fluent in Japanese and reside in Toronto. As with most emerging technology organizations, iseemedia was fiscally conservative and was offering a comp plan with a large equity component.    
 
Our Solution: Because the mobile technologies space is relatively small, our team began the search by investigating those companies in the GTA with international channel sales teams or executives. The candidates we targeted were actively developing business in Asia and/or had an exceptionally successful background selling to wireless technology carriers and, therefore, could apply their skills to an international channel sales role.

To broaden the scope of the search and as client priorities were re-invented, our team also looked to Asian cities for candidates who might otherwise be an ideal fit. Calling upon our work with complementary and “like” organizations, such as Rogers Wireless, Symbility Solutions and Research in Motion, we were quickly able to pull together a superior  ‘shortlist’ of candidates, resulting in an ideal executive match. We continue to work closely with this up-and-coming company to develop high-caliber sales & business development teams.
