Multistat: optimization and design of visualization software solutions that improve the value and efficiency of high value designs in the automotive, aerospace and manufacturing industries.

The Challenge: Having received a first round of venture funding, the CEO of this privately held,
pre-revenue company was in need of a "roll up the sleeves" sales executive who was able to lead them to a demonstrated level of success.

They required a VP of Sales who would be willing to first take on a purely selling role, on their own targeting technical decision makers, then build out their team later as the company grew. With lengthy, complex sales cycles the candidate needed to have superior selling ability to win clients in the F50/F100 and grow the company within a niche market.

With only a small pool of people possessing the necessary skills, the need for a candidate with a thorough technical understanding of the space and the challenge of promoting their start-up venture as a great career move, Multistat needed help. Though they were initially uncertain about the merits of working with Recruiters that were 3000 miles away, they asked Martyn Bassett Associates to assist in the search, based on our expertise and a colleague’s recommendation.

Our Solution: Finding a VP of Sales willing to take on this challenge with a start-up company entering into a mature space was indeed a difficult process. There was not a lot of room for compromise in the qualifications required and the few who were qualified were not always willing to gamble on a start-up. Additionally, there were potential partner companies identified which we could not recruit within.

Your mission will be to build a business of content partners and online channel partners such as Yahoo, Google, MSN and AOL, whose sales teams can be harnessed to sell advertising across an industry specific ecosystem of product and service providers. Strategy is second nature to you and you're a serious force of nature when it comes to building partnerships that work and make money for both sides. You will create the business plan, collaborate with a development team to build the product, launch it and roll it out.
