SAS, world-class business intelligence software and solutions for a wide range of industries, including financial, healthcare, automotive and telecommunications
The Challenge: After acquiring Marketmax, SAS came to Martyn Bassett with a need to source a presales expert with a thorough understanding of price optimization applications. Because SAS was bringing their pricing product to a mature market, they needed an experienced, ready-made professional to come in and aggressively sell their solution to the retail space.
Our Solution: Understanding the challenges, we quickly ascertained that SAS needed to find someone who was already demonstrating, developing or using a price optimization application a retail environment. To begin, we explored our sources from competing organizations – Oracle, Khimetrics and Demadtec, to name a few – to produce a ‘shortlist’ of experienced candidates.
Because time was of essence, we focused solely on those candidates who were using or customizing price point solutions. In the end, we delivered a highly skilled candidate with the nuts and bolts experience to run with SAS’s product. Since then, they have gone on to successfully sell their solution to the retail giants.
