Our client is a Toronto-based, early-stage tech company whose "startup days" are behind them, as they take a big leap forward into 2020! They are active in the market with a platform that was one of the first to disrupt the way independent retailers source and curate the products and collections they offer on their store shelves.

Mission

Your mission will be to assume leadership responsibility for the Product Management function of a late-stage startup/small business.

You will develop the product strategy and prioritize the future of the product, with an emphasis on collecting and analyzing user data to inform your decisions.

You will partner with the Head of Engineering to determine the right mix of new feature development and optimization of the current features.

You will mentor and manage a team of 2: a Product Manager and Designer. You will coach them toward continued growth and success both in the firm and in their careers. One day, they will cite YOU as the reason they have become such successful professionals.

You are a Senior Product Manager who has benefitted from being part of a world class product organization. Through the training you've received and the scope of problems you've been solving, you have had the opportunity to fast track your skills develop and you are ready for the "next level" role: Director Product!

• You have owned a product roadmap.
• You have experience making data driven decisions.
• You have become the SME of the solution you've been responsible for, and you could easily walk someone through the journey you've taken the business through.
• You have a rigour and process to the work that you do, and are able to instill that across a business and a team that will report to you. You know what excellence looks like and are determined to replicate that model!
• You have examples of the tough business decisions you've made and the impact they had (positive or negative) on the business.
• You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You are able to express the appropriate message to C-level executives, but also get into the weeds with team members at a tactical level.
• You are able to work downtown toronto, at an office close to Spadina and Queen.
