They have a number of health and wellness products: both consumer electronics and native mobile apps (IOS and Android), already in market globally. Your mission will be to implement the Data Science & Machine Learning platform.
You will join as the first Big Data Engineer, focusing on pipelining data to their Data Science team which will drive their marketing and product development decision-making.
As the company transitions from AWS to GCP, your role will ensure the robustness of their data infrastructure.
Reporting to the head of Engineering and supported directly by the co-Founder, this will be the first Big Data Engineer hire as they build out their technical team.
You have 5+ years' Big Data Engineering experience in a cloud environment (ideally GCP), ideally supporting a B2C mobile product.
You are working with Spark (required), and have experience with Hadoop, Python, Kafka, Apache Beam, HDFS and Scala. Experience with FirebaseDB will be the cherry on top.
You are able to commute to an office in downtown Toronto, near Queen & John, when it is safe to do so.
