The Sr. Mobile App Development Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the design, implementation, and support of the Mobile App. Working with Product Management and an outsourced app development agency, you will drive the strategy, architecture, and execution for the ongoing development of our mobile app. You will be part of a close-knit, entrepreneurial, cooperative, and fast-paced team across the organization and partner organizations, helping to build upon our record of success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

App development:

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to define sprint and release scope
  • Define solutions to meet product and usability requirements
  • Oversee and direct an outsourced app development agency to ensure timely delivery, quality, and conformance with design and requirements
  • Define the tools and processes that need to be in place to best support development efforts.


  • Define testing efficient and robust procedures to ensure the quality of the application, while meeting delivery timelines
  • Coordinate testing efforts with firmware and end-to-end app/device testing to ensure the app performs to expectations in conjunction with the App device


  • Define the architecture of the app, in the context of our backend systems and device firmware
  • Ensure simplicity, reliability, and scalability of the app
  • Industry trends and best practices
  • Stay abreast of trends in OS capabilities and understand how they impact the app and can be used to enhance usability of the app
  • Keep up to date on development best practices


  • Ensure that app architecture, content, and release notes are well documented and easily accessible by key internal stakeholders

Post-release support:

  • Monitor and action post-launch issues and identify fixes
  • Plan releases to resolve defects

Experience & Expertise

  • 5+ years of app development experience on both iOS and Android platforms, using Swift and Android Studio
  • 2+ years of experience working with an external mobile app development agency, supporting app development, testing, and software architecture, as well as defining development tools and processes to be used
  • Extensive experience defining and implementing software solutions
  • Deep knowledge of mobile app testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of Accessibility standards
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing and rapidly evolving organization
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
