The Search
Achievers engaged us to recruit two Product Management Directors as part of a transformation that would scale out of their product organization. Each leader would be responsible for a product line and people management with the mandate to grow their respective products.
Their current internal recruitment efforts had not yielded candidates senior enough for the mandate which led to our engagement. This opportunity was the Director Product Management of their Marketplace product.
The Client

Their SaaS-based platform leverages cloud, social, analytics, and mobile technologies and is designed to drive higher levels of employee engagement and align culture with business objectives and company values.
Search Requirements
The number one requirement for this was someone with Senior-level B2B SaaS product management experience as well as experience leading and managing a team of high performance Product Managers.
Other requirements included business acumen related to product strategy and product definition with the ability to engage credibly with engineering and design counterparts to achieve adoption and growth outcomes. Mobile app and/or marketplace product experience was considered important, but not essential.
The Hire
This candidate had over15 years of employment experience and had most recently been a Director of Product for a successful B2B SaaS vendor. There they lead a team (3 direct reports and a larger group of 9) working on complex solutions for the healthcare industry. Experience shipping net-new products and 5+ years of experience delivering marketplace and mobile app products used by consumers.
