The Search
On the heels of record revenue growth, Workleap, a B2B SaaS employee engagement platform, and their Board made the decision to hire their first Chief Product Officer.
Considered the cornerstone to achieving the next stage of growth, the mandate of this incoming CPO was to unlock and deliver scale.
The core criteria we were recruiting for included:
- Leadership of multi-product ecosystems of enterprise B2B SaaS
- Experience leading a business with revenue greater than $80M ARR
- Experience with build/buy/partner decisions including M&A activity
- A leader of leaders managing a product organization of 25+ people
- Based in Canada
The first 4 criteria represented a small community of talent which led to an expanded search into the US. At the midpoint of the search, the interview process was also reimagined to create a more seamless experience.
The Client
Workleap is a North American venture-backed HR tech software organization, which has scaled to $100M ARR and a workforce surpassing 400. Today, Workleap provides employee engagement, productivity, collaboration, and onboarding solutions to over 15,000 customers globally.
The Hire
It is often said that ‘people hire people’ which could not be more true of this search.
While the search came close to a hiring decision, it was only after they met the person who they eventually hired, that the ‘magic’ was there.
Not only was the candidate’s experiences aligned to the 5-key requirements, they also strongly aligned culturally.
Whereby ‘timing’ is always a variable for candidates at this level, both were ready for each other.
“Working with them was a game changer in our. With their deep understanding of our business and culture, they were able to deliver top tier candidates quickly and supported us every step of the way. Their expertise and partnership was pivotal in filling this critical role.”
