We’ve been placing product leaders across Europe for years, and as we kick off 2026, we want to start the year by helping companies and candidates better navigate compensation expectations.
We’ve analyzed our own first-party data from a recent search; 34 experienced Product Managers we’ve engaged with across Europe.
These aren’t survey responses or self-reported figures. This is real compensation data from active searches, representing professionals at Senior PM, Group PM, Head of Product, and VP Product levels. They work across B2B SaaS, B2C mobile, and platform-led environments, spanning the UK, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Nordics.
Here’s what we’re seeing in the market right now.
Where the Money is: Regional Breakdown
London still leads the pack. UK-based product leaders, particularly those in London working on AI or data-intensive products, are commanding £180K–£200K base salaries. Across the broader UK market (including Sheffield and Essex), we’re seeing £120K–£200K, with an average around £155K.
Dublin is keeping pace. Thanks to a strong presence of US-headquartered tech companies, Dublin-based PMs are earning €180K–€218K, rivaling or even exceeding London in some cases.
Western Europe remains competitive. Amsterdam and Berlin continue to be hot markets, with base salaries ranging from €110K–€180K and averaging €145K. Southern European cities like Milan and Lisbon tend to fall on the lower end of that range, but the gap is narrowing.
Central and Eastern Europe is closing the gap fast. Poland, Czechia, and Serbia are no longer “budget” markets. We’re sourcing senior product talent there at €90K–€150K, with an average of €120K, not far behind Western Europe and climbing quickly as technical maturity catches up.
The Nordics and Southern Europe align with Western EU norms. Our data points in Finland and Greece both land around €150K, consistent with the broader Western European midpoint.
| Region | Salary Range (Base) | Average |
|---|---|---|
| UK (London, Sheffield, Essex) | £120K – £200K | £155K |
| Western Europe (Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Portugal) | €110K – €180K | €145K |
| Central & Eastern Europe (Poland, Czechia, Serbia) | €90K – €150K | €120K |

What Different Roles Actually Earn
Here’s how compensation breaks down across the product management career ladder, based on the placements we’ve made:
Senior and Group PMs, these experienced individual contributors leading squads or small PM pods are earning €110K–€150K, with a median around €130K.
Heads of Product and Directors represent the bulk of our placements. Across Europe, they’re commanding €140K–€185K, with €160K as the midpoint. This is the most common range we see in the market today.
VP Product and Platform Leaders are in high demand, especially in AI, enterprise SaaS, and product-led growth companies. These roles are commanding €180K–€230K, with a median around €200K.
Founder-turned-PM talent (those who’ve sold companies and joined as senior product leaders) typically land in the €150K–€180K range, with a median of €160K. Their commercial experience and entrepreneurial mindset make them highly valuable, even if they’re not always commanding top-tier VP comp.
| Role Type | Range | Median |
|---|---|---|
| Senior / Group PM | €110K – €150K | €130K |
| Head of Product / Director | €140K – €185K | €160K |
| VP Product / Platform Leader | €180K – €230K | €200K |
| Founder / Acquired Founder | €150K – €180K | €160K |
What’s Driving Compensation Up
A few clear trends are emerging from our search data:
AI and platform product roles command a premium. We’re seeing 10–15% higher offers for product leaders working on AI-driven products or managing complex platform ecosystems compared to more traditional product roles.
Product-led growth companies outpay enterprise B2B. PLG-focused organizations consistently offer better compensation packages than legacy enterprise SaaS companies, even for similar scope and seniority.
Equity and bonuses matter. On average, total compensation is 10–25% higher than base salary when you factor in equity grants and annual bonuses. For senior roles, equity participation is often a key negotiating point.
US-headquartered companies stretch the top end. Whether in Dublin, London, or Amsterdam, American tech companies hiring in Europe tend to set the ceiling for compensation in each market.
The Big Picture
If you’re hiring a Head of Product leading teams in a growth or platform-led environment, €150K–€180K is the true European midpoint right now. London and Dublin remain outliers on the high end, but Central and Eastern Europe are no longer outliers on the low end; they’re legitimate hubs for senior product leadership.
For candidates: Companies are paying for ownership, technical depth, and the ability to lead through ambiguity. Make sure that if you’re in candidate mode, you are highlighting these aspects on your resume and in interviews.
For companies: Competitive compensation isn’t optional anymore, especially if you’re competing for talent with AI-first or PLG-focused experience. While this isn’t the highs of the 2022 market, we are seeing more competition for select candidates.
This data reflects what we’re seeing on the ground from real searches, real offers, real market dynamics. If you’re navigating a hire or a career move in European product management, these benchmarks should give you a solid foundation to work from.
