Our client is a global brand whose SaaS product enables the creation and sharing of UGC (user generated content).
We conducted a targeted search on our client’s behalf, seeking Principal and Senior Product Managers in Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax who had experience working on technically complicated products.
The client interviewed 6 candidates:
The Reliable Rebuilder – $90K Base + Bonus
- 7 years of employment experience, 5 spent in Product Management
- Responsible for a complicated B2B backend product and leading a rebuild
- Based in Ontario
- Bachelor’s Degree
The Hometown Hero – $130K Base + Bonus + Equity
- 13 years of employment experience, 10 of which were with the same employer and 5 spent in Product Management
- Responsible for a business application with numerous API integrations into other systems
- Based in Nova Scotia
The European Expat – $150K Base + Bonus + Equity
- 12 years of employment experience, 8 spent as a Product Manager
- Responsible for 2 products and the API strategy
- Previous experience in Adtech as a SMR
- Based in Western Europe but returning to Ontario
- Engineering Degree + MBA and Certified Scrum Product Owner
The Tenured Titan – $130K Base + Bonus + Equity
- 15 years of employment experience, 11 spent in Product Management
- Responsible for a product line including its roadmap and revenue
- Based in Ontario
- Business Degree
The Clever Consultant – $100K Base + Bonus
- 11 years of employment experience, 8 spent as a Product Owner/Manager
- Responsible for a consultancy’s largest client as a dedicated Product Manager/Owner managing a global platform used for content publishing
- Based in Ontario
- Masters Degree (tech) and numerous Product and Project Certifications
The Hire
- 10 years of employment experience, 9 spent in Product Management
- Responsible for launching a native mobile product experience with active users as well as leading a complete ground-up rebuild
- Functioned as a Director, reporting to a CEO and managing the overall product roadmap
- Based in Nova Scotia
- Business Major + numerous Product, Project and Communication Courses/Certificates
To attract and land this candidate, our client offered a $120K Base + 15% Bonus.
As you can see, compensation for these candidates varies significantly based on the length and scope of experience, as well as their ability to thrive in similar environments.
