The Search
This search represented the client’s first time hiring a Head of Product. The mandate of this role was to build a business around a B2B2C platform that would add value to the therapist, patient and research community.
The Client
MindCure is a Canadian tech startup reinventing the mental health care model (for patients and practitioners) to allow psychedelics to advance into common and accepted care. The company raised $23M in early 2021, paving the way to complete the leadership team.
Search Requirements
This role required a product management leader with experience launching a B2B2C platform that was in-market with real customers and users. The hire needed to have startup experience and experience navigating new product categories (where little history existed). It was important that the hire had a proven track record working with data to provide insights to SLT about the behaviours and experiences of its users. This “unicorn candidate” also needed to have both wellness and health-tech experience as well as experience with ML or AI.
The Hire
This hire had13 years of employment experience, 11 of which were in health-tech and 10 in product management. They had experience reporting into a Founder and realizing a net-new product experience from ideation to market release. They had also successfully launched a B2B2C health-tech product, used by almost 1 million Canadians and participated in an exit (acquisition).
